The PRO-HEAD® trainer is a patented, full swing training aid that immediately helps the golfer feel the effect of maintaining the spine angle and keeping the head back and behind the ball, at and through impact.
PRO-HEAD® helps to develop the muscle memory needed to transfer that feel into a consistent and repeatable swing. Such accelerated muscle memory development can be attained through repeated swings with the PRO-HEAD® trainer.
Some professionals have called the PRO-HEAD® a “mechanical Jack Grout.” Grout used his arm to hold Nicklaus’ head still. The PRO-HEAD® Trainer has a 60 inch, two piece aluminum arm that adjusts to golfers’ head heights, to hold their heads steady. The Standard model supports the arm with a vertical pole and a weighted base. The Deluxe model has an aluminum frame that supports the arm. A bracket that attaches to a wall or tree holds the arm for the wall/tree mount model. All models are adjustable to golfers’ heights that range from 40 inches to 78 inches.
Two attachments, a Hat attachment and a Hitting attachment, easily snap in and out of the end of the arm. The adjustable Hat attachment is recommended for chipping, pitching and putting. The specially designed rubber connector for the Hat attachment allows for slight, harmless head movement, but not for head bobbing or for any change to the spine angle. The Hitting attachment is recommended for practicing the full swing, with any full-swing club including the driver. It allows the head to come away from the attachment for a full follow through.
All PRO-HEAD® trainers can be used by left handed or right handed golfers, male or female and of any age from youngster to senior. PRO-HEAD® trainers are particularly recommended for youngsters. Read our article about Learning Golf at an early Age.
Golfers can use the PRO-HEAD® trainer with or without a club and with or without hitting real golf balls. Any club can be used from driver to wedge. By using a club and a ball, the golfer more closely simulates the real swing and will get better and instant tactile feedback. The golfer can feel when s/he hits a “pure” shot. When used without a club, the golfer can simply practice swinging, training and exercising by taking full practice swings. The required muscle memory for a good and consistent swing can be developed with exercise and by swinging with or without a club.
